Phil Hazel's Life-Saving Flying Lesson

Phillip Hazel - Davidson Class of 1964 - recently passed away. He saved a life back in 1981 in an incredibly dramatic rescue. He heard a woman in a private aircraft radio for help. An experienced pilot and flight instructor, Hazel ran out to an airplane and took off. He found the woman and spent the next 20 minutes teaching her how to fly and land a plane. News of Davidson combined the audio file with still images to create this video.
