Town Day in Davidson - 2021_May
From the looks of the weather last weekend, spring has made it to Davidson! People all arpund town were outdoors basking in the sunshine and helping with a variety of civic chores organized by the town’s Parks & Recreation Department. News of Davidson photographer Bill Giduz captured some of the activities to share with readers here. Town assignments included lakeshore and greenway cleanup and spreading mulch to nourish trees in public parks. A large group reported for duty at the future Beaty Park to clear invasive plants and underbrush, and others tilled the soil at the community garden. Town folk and visitors filled the Farmers Market, stocking up on flowers, veggies, strawberries, and more. Cyclists plyed the suburban roads, and fans of the great American pastime played baseball at McEver Field. A Scout troop showed off an exhibition of pollinators where visitors could learn to make “bee hotels.”
