Normally Summit Outpost is pretty quiet on a summer Sunday morning. That was not the case on July 7, 2019. Summit Outpost was "THE" place to be for soccer fans. A standing room only crowd was on hand to watch the U.S. Women's Soccer Team win the World Cup.

The audience looked on intently as the USA held a 1-0 lead well into the second half of the game.

Several young fans made some artwork for the game. This one was hung up in a window at Summit Outpost.

Fans were glued to the TV at Summit Outpost - watching the U.S. Women's Soccer Team in the World Cup Championship game.

GGGOOOOAAALLLL! And with a terrific drive down the field, Rose Lavelle scored the second goal for the U.S. Women's Team.

Brian Helfrich said that he & his brother talked about watching the Women's World Cup Championship game together, and then decided it would be more fun to add a few friends. The owners of Summit Coffee decided to open up Summit Outpost on the Davidson College campus and host a watch party. They drew a standing room only crowd.

U.S. holds a 2-0 lead going into stoppage time at the end of 90 minutes.

Several fans wore team USA gear, and a few opted to try to match U.S. team captain Megan Rapinoe's hair color. Rapinoe scored one of two goals for team USA.

Former Davidson Soccer Coach Matt Spear was glue to one of the TVs at Summit Outpost for the Women's World Cup Champtionship game. Team USA defeated the Netherlands 2-0.

Fans of all ages cheered and applauded the U.S. Women's National Team win over the Netherlands in the Women's World Cup Championship Game.
